Welcome to Kobushi Kai: Sensei Colin Shutes welcomes
you to the Kobushi Kai Karate Club website! Kobushi Kai is a non-profit
organization that supports the well-being of the community by providing
volunteer services to the community and exemplary leadership for
new and existing members. Kobushi Kai has been an active member
of the Union City community for the past 25 years, participating
in local events ranging from environmental awareness programs to
self-defense seminars for men, women and children. |

Our
Purpose: Kobushi Kai is a family-oriented karate club.
The purpose of the Kobushi Kai Karate Club is to perpetuate the
art of Shito Ryu Karate through diligent physical practice and commitment
to family unity and brotherhood amongst its members. Kobushi Kai
is a way of life. Through discipline of the mind and body, we strive
to become one with ourselves and those around us.
